Deeper Lore Theories
A number of fans propose that Clea, the sister of Verso and Alicia, could have painted a dark version of Esquie during their youth. According to this idea, Clea may have employed this creation to scare Verso, and now it might be pursuing expeditions in a specific region of the world.
Such speculation aligns with existing lore, as the character has before interfered with the canvas, altering characters and orchestrating manipulations. Furthermore, the comeback of her voice actor fuels the notion that her part will expand in the downloadable content.
